Just like Home

I just watched my husband wizz by our house on his bike together with our Dutch neighbor from up the street.  They are off to have a drink with the Dutch gentleman who lives just across the bay.  Just like home. Dutch People… they are everywhere you are.

It makes me happy for Maarten that he has these moments.

Ida you can recognize all that feelings, you had them before in the Neterlands….

Indeed, even in Holland they are always everywhere!

  3. Same here in Australia, so many Dutchies around us. It’s nice to catch up with them.
Sophie goes to family daycare on Fridays, turns out her family daycare mum (Ida), although she has lived here for 40 years, is born Dutch and still speaks the language. Very handy when Sophie starts mixing up her languages again, she is still understood and gets gently corrected or taught the right words.
